Dear readers,
since December 2010 we call a Nivona 850 our own. Already quite soon -1 year after the purchase the problems with the machine began. The dealer was not able to fix the problems. Shortly after the end of the warranty the machine went directly to Nivona. After that we had some rest. Inspections have been made, cleaning is done immediately, handling of the machine is very careful. Despite everything, we can no longer make coffee and our specialist dealer does not know what to do. The problem: After the coffee has been ground and pressed, the machine pops 2x and then breaks off.

WHAT CAN BE THAT?

The grinding mechanism is checked and ok. The brewing group has been added in March. I'm afraid to give up this very expensive machine just like that. But always new repair costs do not make sense in the long run. I don't want to send my machine to Nivona anymore, because they always told me that we have too many covers. I don't want to be told that anymore. We're three people who drink coffee every day. When we bought this machine, we were told that it was also very popular for smaller offices (tax consultants, lawyers, etc.). The specialist company that serviced the machine said our covers were quite normal. If you would only drink 2 cups a day, you wouldn't need such an expensive fully automatic machine.

Can anyone give me some advice here? I now filter again by hand and am frustrated.

love greetings
Sabine

Hello,
can you describe that 2 bangs a little closer? Is this more of a gear crack, or more of a dull bang?

Hello cervical spine,

This is a distinct cracking. Like something's breaking. It's not dull. Rather bright. And always twice. No matter which program was chosen. So I drink "cream" my husband "lungo". Even if I reduce the amount of coffee - only 2 beans strong - everything remains the same. It is noticeable that there is a lot of coffee powder in the brewing group. The pomace pads are well pressed and compact. We bought the machine at a specialty store. But since the service was very bad, we are now here with a master electrician who specializes in repairing fully automatic coffee machines. But he can't really assign the cracking either. He first wanted to order a spare part that would have cost us about 70,-. Since he was very unsure, however, whether this was also due to this, he decided not to do so, and once again took a close look at the grinding mechanism. But it can't be that, he says. I also made a video where you can clearly hear the cracking/clicking. Can you attach this here?
Hear regards
Sabine

Good evening,

Probably the brewing unit drive is affected. If there is almost always too much coffee powder in the brewing group, then it goes to the drive during pressing. The master electrician certainly wanted to order a new drive.
Won't be bad to put the Viedeo in. But I don't know how.

Hello HWS,
first of all many thanks for your help. I'll pass that on and ask him to change the part after all. Unfortunately, the video didn't work. But maybe we have found it - the problem.

Many greetings
Sabine

Hello HWS,

it took some time now - but - what lasts a long time will finally be good! I would like to thank you very much again today for your help. Since ours - yes, what is this actually called? - so, the one who always repairs our machines - changed the gearbox, the Nivona runs like clockwork. It is now also much quieter when rinsing and there is hardly any coffee powder around the brewing group. The 110,- Euro was a good investment. Without your help, we probably wouldn't have had this repair done on "suspicion. So many thanks again

Sabine

Thanks for the feedback! I am very happy about such successes. Often you can't give the right advice from a distance. All the more you are happy if you could help.
