Hello together,

I am new in the field of coffee machines and now I have one for repair.

In the background, my son got a used AEG GC 6600 fully automatic coffee machine as a present, but unfortunately the display doesn't work (dark).

I disassembled the device so far that I arrived at the display and I see it seems to have a backlight.

Now my questions:
1. Is it correct that the display has a backlight?
2. Does it happen that it fails or is there another def. (the machine will do something if you turn it on => so not everything can be def.)?
3. Has any experience with a def. Display?
4. If you can buy the display board (used)?

About the one or other feedback I would be happy to get the machine back.

Thanks and many greetings
wostko

Yes, the display has a backlight. Solder the LED connectors. They're right on the display itself.

Hello and thanks for the answer.

The idea with the "cold" solder joint was already not bad.
Leedy (was this) directly in the LED Moule, which is built into the display.

To get to it, I have now disassembled the whole display.
In any case there is an LED def. (the lower one)
The upper one lights up again.

I haven't reassembled the display yet, only soldered in the LED module, because I still have a question.

I can now observe the following when I switch on the machine.

I switch the machine on (plug) the upper LED goes on, the machine does something (I guess grinder) then the red LED goes off after about 4 sec. again.

As said I do not know this machine and now my question would be,
how it behaves directly after switching on.
Is the display two-colored, i.e. in the first eye buzz it is red (the LED works) and then changes to blue (the lower LED is def.)?

>I don't have any trouble getting to the LED contacts to measure.

>I would be happy about another nweis.

Thank you and many greetings

This machine has only a red display. If it is normal that the display is on when the connector is plugged in, the machine makes its autodiagnosis and then goes off again. Afterwards it should be switched on via the control panel.
