Delonghi ECAM370.95: General questions

Which settings to choose?

Hello
,I have the Delonghi ECAM 370.95 Dinamica Plus for a month and unfortunately still not found the right settings for the perfect coffee. Incidentally, it is my first automatic coffee machine, so I do not yet have the experience for the optimal settings....

I am currently using 100% Arabica coffee beans. In the beginning I always had a nice dense crema, which also formed a nice surface for several minutes. In the meantime, however, the crema is gone pretty quickly. What could be the reason for this?

The grind is set to 5, so rather towards coarse (level 5.5 was factory setting, level 7 is very coarse). Through the app, I set my coffee to 150 ml amount and medium strength. Oddly enough, the coffee tastes sometimes better and sometimes not quite so good, it goes then rather in the sour.

As I have always read, the amount of coffee for a coffee should be about 9 g. The puck from the coffee grounds is a good 1.8 cm thick in my case, but it always weighs considerably more than the 9 g. In general, I find the coffee consumption of the machine quite high, because with 160 cups brewed, 2 kg of coffee beans were used. The amount of beans can be set but nowhere.

Maybe someone can give me help with the machine and has perhaps also the Dinamica Plus and can give me advice on what to look for so that the coffee gets the optimal taste.

Hello,

the 9 grams are dry. If you have brewed coffee then the puck is moist and probably heavier than the 9 grams.
I do not know your machine, but if it is the one on the HP of Delonghi is you can yes top right the button with the two beans can adjust the strength.
On what you have the then stand?

Thanks for your answer.

I have the coffee strength on bean 3 of 5. So exactly in the middle.

What if you set it to one?

Then the coffee becomes much too thin and watery :/.

Then the setting fits yes. Now you just have to find the right beans for you.
I've never looked at how many coffees I get from 1Kg. Beans get. If I start to calculate then I must not buy a fully automatic machine.
Do you get the beans in a roastery or just normal shop?

Yes, I guess in the meantime also that it is because of the beans ...
So far I've only picked up the beans in the store (partly Tchibo) and tried times. Some is too lukewarm for me and others tastes too strongly roasted again. Is unfortunately really not easy. But anyway, I now also think that it is because of the beans and must apparently continue to try through.

I own a De'Longhi Dinamica Plus machine myself and I suspect that the problem is also caused by the beans.

I use coffee beans from De Hema "Espresso Dark Roast", a blend of 80% Arabica and 20% Robusta beans with an intensity of 10. The Robusta ensures a thicker crema on the espresso. I set the grinding setting to position 3 (fine). The finer the grind setting, the stronger the coffee tastes. I set the aroma setting to 4 beans. It's always a bit of searching and trying out what the right settings are for coffee beans. As soon as you have found the ideal combination you can save it in your profile via my settings.

I am very satisfied with the full soft taste and the crema on the espresso.

Hope my answer helps you.
