Good morning, we are about to buy a new DeLonghi fully automatic coffee machine. Basically, the topic therefore fits into two sub-forums.
Initially, the focus is on a possible "forced use
"
of
the water filters to operate the machine.
We are flirting
with the PrimaDonna Elite Experience ECAM 656.85.MS. In

any case, it is a fully automatic machine whose brewing group

can be removed itself for cleaning. What about the
programmable
fully automatic coffee machines with water filters?
Is there an "obligation to use" the (original) filters for any equipment because the manufacturer has programmed the machine in such a way that covers without filters used are not permitted at all (technical obligation) or it is part of the guarantee conditions to have to use these filters during the guarantee period - to maintain the guarantee
(legal obligation)?
We prefer to decalcify every month, manually if necessary, rather than
using
such
filters.
Of course, experience reports are
always welcome.

Our previous, non-programmable DeLonghi had

lasted a

little over 8 years without any significant repairs (microswitches, etc.)

.

A pending repair would not have been economically viable due to age

.

Therefore, we are also interested in whether, for example, the more complex electronics ("a computer that can separate coffee purchases") are a blessing or a curse with regard to the useful life (or otherwise)

. What about the

availability of spare parts and the ease of repair without

having to

send in idas equipment immediately

?

Thank you very much.

WAs this question not answered? Sigh!! I guess go with your gut instinct, as I also own a delonghi magnifica and never once used a filter! Regular descaling is a must!
