Hello with the request for help,

After I said goodbye to my original thought of buying a Melitta Caffeo Barista after intensive research (including various questions like brewing group, technique etc. ), I now oscillate between the following KVA:

Jura Impressa A5 <-> Jura ENA Micro 9

So besides coffee and espresso I would like to enjoy Latte Macchiato as well as Cappuccino. Besides quality and taste of the "original" coffee also the temperature of the respective drinks is important to me.

Can anyone help me? Are there any tips or hints, experiences with the two machines?

First just thank you very much!

Many greetings, Michaela

What's wrong with the barista...? Reliable technology also has that... :-)

;-) right, no question, that's why she had managed to stay with it for a long time " - but friends have the predecessor model and the coffee isn't that hot.....I know, of course, the barista is now another model, this and admittedly the design on closer inspection led to the retirement

Somehow I have to decide - the old song, the more I am concerned with the topic (which is exciting, but at some point I'd like to have a little pig at home) the more thoughts for/against/variations/possibilities emerge ;-)

I think you should include something very important in your decisions.

Do you want to be able to remove the brewing unit for cleaning or not...?

The Jura devices do not offer this possibility, which does not make you worse..Jura devices were the only true for many years..the brewing technology of these devices is mature for 20 years, but it has remained the same since then.

The reliability of the Melitta Barista or also the Nivona 830/831 (same technique) is on a similarly high level, but you usually get better equipment for your money.

Your friends probably have a Melitta Ci, which is also very good, but the Barista and also the Nivona are technically a complete generation further.

Oh dear, yes yes, the perpetual question about the removable brewing group ;-)....I also read a lot about this (here as well), considerations back and forth, but in the end I decided to make the decision - this is not a criterion for or against a machine :-)

One, not insignificant point, is of course also the design, after all it gets a great place in the kitchen ;-)

If I had to award placings from this point of view, both Jura would stand in front of Melitta Barista and unfortunately Nivona not even in third place. This is of course purely my feeling! ;-)

Then you've already made up your mind halfway. But I would decide for a device with a halfway large water tank and bean container, it simply annoys me if there is always something to be refilled.

You just have to test the temperature to see if it's enough for you. The coffee temperature at the fully automatic machines is fixed in their program, usually it can be selected in a few steps.

Whoever this is not enough, the manufacturers recommend to preheat the cup.

Right, clearly preheat cups - I'll certainly always do that, too. As far as I can see, there are two possible selectable brewing temperatures for the two Jura (Melitta has a default) - I wouldn't even need that if the ONE is hot enough smile.gif

Unfortunately, I can't try both (or even all three) under the same conditions here and compare them directly.

It will probably come down to me ordering a Jura, namely the Impressa A5, ;-) and testing it

Mag being stupid, but I find it very important for my sense of pleasure that the coffee is hot. It gets cold by itself cool.gif ... a latte macchiato or cappuccino isn't that hot by nature anyway...because I expect really good taste in the Jura rolleyes.gif

I don't think the Jura and Melitta take much care of the coffee temperature or the setting options... they should all have at least 3 coffee temperatures to set.

For someone who likes to drink his coffee very hot, every fully automatic coffee maker is a disappointment.

But if you want to go beyond that, I could imagine that on the big Saeco models there's the possibility to override the temperature manually (via a hidden technician menu), which however results in the loss of the warranty. But Jura and Melitta do not have these possibilities.

I have to fall back on Goethe "There I am, poor gate, and I am as smart as before." cool.gif

.... i just let myself be surprised smile.gif

("Hidden technician menu sounds very tempting but no, not another new machine into the game ;-) )

But (anyway) thanks for your time!!

Sunny Sunday greetings

So I don't think that Martin is right with this quote

For someone who likes to drink his coffee very hot every fully automatic coffee maker is a disappointment.

At a Saeco the lip-burning juice comes out really hot and I think that nobody can drink the coffee hotter than 86°C without blowing or burning his lips let alone his tongue. Or is someone here drinking boiling water?

MfG Chris

Before it comes to further mistakes ;-) - I'm assuming Martin doesn't refer to the spell any more than I do.

Mir was clear from the beginning that my question was a subjective one anyway....so I only asked for general experience, because some machines should be known to produce only lukewarm drinks rolleyes.gif

So I would like to answer the question myself rolleyes.gif - it has become a very chic Jura Ena Micro 9 and even better - after the first attempts and although still in the testing phase for the right bean - the coffee (with great crema) tastes great. The milk drinks have an almost phenomenal milk foam and are just as simply delicious. I'm going to experiment a little more now and look forward to (hopefully) lots more great coffees......... smile.gif

Greetings, Michaela
