Hello Community,

we have a ca. 8 Jare old Cafe Bonitas RetroStar machine, which is long out of service, due to new acquisition.

Now we have a needy household help, who has discovered the machine in the basement and would like to have. We would like to give her this machine as a gift, but when we turned on the machine, we noticed that the machine indicates that we should fill up with water. The tank is / was full, however, and also the float in it rises and falls.

About the machine is quite little on the Internet, which is why we have read, for example, that a magnetic switch or Hall sensor could be defective !?. Our technical know-how on this particular subject is not enough here, which is why I'm hoping for help here, as we would like to send her the machine.

Can someone here possibly help what we can do so that we can locate the fault and possibly fix it?

We would be very happy to receive answers

Thanks

Hello, to your concerns.
Remove the water tank and look where the float in the tank to the housing, take a refrigerator or similar magnet and hold this at the sensor.
If the water tank is now detected as "Filled", then it is the magnet in the water tank.
Reaniemieren you can the water tank magnet with a strong magnet that you simply put from the outside on this. I think 24 hours should be enough.
If this does not work with the previous written will be the sensor in the KVA defective.
Good luck

Hello,

the troubleshooting worked like this, however, the magnet probably could not be charged. I have now glued a small neodymium on the back of the float and covered it with epoxy resin from dentistry. Works perfectly and the machine can be handed over.

Many thanks for the tip, which then also led directly to success.
