Only water in drip tray, no coffee to outlet. EQ9

Siemens EQ9 one year old stopped working. Machine is pumping water from container directly to driptray, bypassing brewing unit. Message “refill with still water” appears upon start.

I wrote with my problem to Siemens support. As I unfortunately have lost my receipt, I need to pay 200€ for shipping and a check of the machine. Furthermore will come unknown repair expenses.

Is there anything I can try to do before returning. For instance buy spare parts and install? I have tried to search for a service/repair manual with no luck.
