Nivona 821 - pomace coarse&moist, coffee hardly cream

We bought our Nivona 821 (Type 709) in January and were thrilled with the coffee - great crema and aroma, pomace dry and firm (puck). The grinder (steel) was set to FINE from the beginning. For 2 weeks now, the pomace is coarse and wet, the coffee flat and hardly any crema. A total of approx. 700 pulls with monthly cleaning and twice descaling after each request by the machine.

Could it be due to a fault/defect in the grinder?

A test adjustment of the grinder hardly caused any noticeable change
