I was operating the cleaning cycle. It asked for the cleaning tablet, and I accidentally dropped the small protective cover from the dual spout into the powder chute for ground coffee. I cannot see how to get the object back out.

I do not want to continue the cleaning cycle and risk damaging the machine.

Do you have any recommendations on what to do please?

Many thanks!

With a vacuum cleaner: Put a small hose into the nozzle and hold the hose with your hand, close the nozzle and put it into the powder shaft. With a little luck you should be able to get it out that way.
What kind of part is it and how big is it? Depending on that nothing happens if it is not too big. If you turn the machine on, it will fall into the pomace container when initialized
.

Alternatively open the machine.

Hello Schlawi, thank you very much for your suggestion. I did consider the vaccum cleaner idea yesterday but didn't have a nozzle small enough to go into the chute.

The bit of plastic is very small, it covers the end of the milk inlet spout.

As it happened, I turned the machine upside down and shook it a little bit. The plastic bit slid down to the bottom of the chute, where I could see it. I then got wooden skewer and managed to 'scoop' the plastic bit out of the chute. I continued with the cleaning cycle and everything seems fine now.
