Coffee powder behind brew group Saeco Xelsis

I have been using a Saeco Xelsis SM7580/00 fully automatic coffee machine for several years and am actually very satisfied with it. Recently, however, after removing the brew group, I have noticed that a lot of coffee powder always falls out at the back (i.e. next to the brew group). I can't explain this because the outlet for the coffee powder is right above the brew group. Does anyone have any tips as to why this could be?
