If the drainage valve does not seal, then the water intended for the brewing unit runs the wrong way into the drip tray. The valve is there to let the residual water through during each brewing process (approx. one shot glass full) after the coffee is already in the cup at the front. There's two lip seals in there. When they are worn out, the water goes through there into the drip tray during brooding.
In addition, the large seal of the bruising flask may be worn, as may a lip seal. During pressing, the brewing cylinder moves up and the rigid upper brewing flask presses the moist coffee powder together. The broth water pushes through the fine broth sieve under high pressure. If the large lip seal is worn out, the broth water also runs past the seal into the drip tray.
Then a new set of gaskets is necessary, the large lip gasket, the gasket for the inlet nozzle, and 2 lip gaskets for the drainage valve.
In addition, the stainless steel brewing sieve may be blocked so that the brewing water can no longer get through. Can also be cleaned with a toothbrush.
