Hello our DeLonghi ESAM 5500 Perfecta Cappuccino has since a few days the problem that the coffee only trickles, instead of a proper jet. Same with the rinse program.
machine is from 2017, has just under 17000 covers. Major descaling was done recently. So far there have been no repairs. Could also be that the problem was already creeping up and it was not so noticeable. It is still enough to make a coffee, but it takes longer and you could hear the pump working strained. I have now on suspicion exchanged the pump against new identical... Has not changed anything. The flow-meter is free and turns. Hoses, as far as I can see, all continuous. Solenoid valves click when actuated in test mode, pump as well..... "Outputs" are also free in the flap.
According to the data sheet, the descaler from Delonghi is with lactic acid. I do not know the mixture. I would try a descaler based on amidosulfonic acid. E.g. Durgol or Eilfix. And also let the high dose in test mode through the upper brewing piston.
According to the article on https://cafeambiance.fr/conseils/reparation-cafetiere-delonghi/, it is recommended to check the thermal block of the DeLonghi ESAM 5500 Perfecta Cappuccino machine if the coffee flow is drip rather than a true stream. The thermal block is responsible for heating the water for the coffee, so if it is defective, it could cause a flow problem. However, before replacing the heat block, it is advisable to check other parts such as hoses and solenoid valves to ensure they are in good condition.
Meanwhile, there is an update and good to report. Although it took a while, but:
After several decalcification including the upper brewing piston with Durgol, the machine runs great again and the coffee comes out with the right jet. The replacement of the pump was therefore unnecessary, ......aber can also not have harmed.... I now have the old in reserve
Best thanks to both of you for your help & support Until the next problem
