filter holder does not work

hello, I have a De Longhi Ec201; for a while now when I use the filter holder for 1 coffee powder, it comes out almost all the way from outside; I tried to use 2 others that I already had but the result is always the same. the strange fact is that when I use the filter holder for 2 coffees, it comes out regularly and makes very good coffee. I can't understand why the filter holder for 1 coffee doesn't work. can anyone give me an explanation?
