KRUPS EA8108 releases pressure after prebrewing

Hello all,

I (Karsten) am new here and hope you can help me.
I have a KRUPS type EA8108. It pre-brews a bit, meaning it grinds the beans, then the brew head goes down and a small amount of water is pumped in. Normally after a second it then continues with the actual brewing process and coffee dispensing. That's how it is, but lately the machine depressurizes right after the pre-brew. Some water comes into the drip tray. The water comes out of the heating element, in the normal place where the pressure is regularly released at the end of the brewing process.

After some research, this could be related to possibly old seals of the brew head, which I have ordered as a precaution times (are not yet there). However, I would have expected then more that the pressure is pressed out at the top (past the seals) and I also have pressure loss during actual brewing. But the coffee is otherwise quite normal.

Hence the questions to you guys, what other causes could the outlined error pattern have? Every tip is welcome.

GreetingsKarsten

Hi Karsten (and anyone else who may be able to help)
,I am currently struggling with exactly the same problem. Also a Krups EA81, which drains water into the drip tray after the brew head has runtegefahren.
Drain valve I have already checked and greased - but was running fine before.
Overpressure valve after the pump is also faultless.
Gaskets on brew head are original but still look good.
Drained water comes out of brew unit into hose leading to drain valve.
Machine has 5200 pulls and has always been filled with filtered water.
Anyone have any hot tips as to what is likely the problem?

It is important that the compression spring in the Drainge valve has the correct preload.
Please disassemble the valve and stretch the spring to at least 38 mm (length when new). The spring will fatigue due to the large number of covers.
Additionally change the O-ring of the relief valve and clean the pressure surfaces.
