Good evening, I bought an old Victoria and would like to restore it. I paid almost nothing for the car but it is missing the copper "cap" and the former owner said he couldn't get it to run because it is probably clogged with lime scale. I think the best thing is to disassemble it completely since it is mechanical and not complex and take care of every single piece, the side grille and shelves is almost perfect apart from the dome there is everything including the brass filter holder, the water pan and the one underneath in copper etc... The filter is steel and it seems strange to me, I would have preferred if it had always been brass, aesthetically it was preferable but maybe it would impart strange flavors? If so was also the filter holder then...
I would like to ask if there is anyone here who is an expert on this machine (family model unfortunately, not the big stratospheric bar one!) and if you can give me some specific advice because tutorials are not there on you tube. My experience is on my Illy X3 which I used to assemble and repair for years by myself but I have a very good manual dexterity for restorations and with the right tips I will be faster.
Thank you in advance ????
