Philips ep3221 displays error

Hello,

we have since a few weeks (unfortunately, the return period has passed) a Philips EP3221. The machine ran well at the beginning, but since a few days the error light always lights up in the morning after switching on, which according to the instructions says that the service door is open or the collection container for the water is not inserted correctly.

Neither the one nor the other applies, however.

Opening and closing the service door leads to the light goes out briefly, but immediately goes back on when you close the again. Same with the drip tray.


However, if you press the "start" button, the machine flushes some hot water through the milk frother and then works completely fine. Service door open, close etc runs. You can turn it off hour later, turn it on, runs. But if you leave it overnight and want your coffee in the morning, the fuss starts again.

Anyone have any ideas what this could be before we send them in?

Did you have parts from the machine in the dishwasher?

No, not yet.

The microswitch may have come loose from its mounting or the contacts may be oxidized.
But before you tinker with it yourself, make use of the warranty.
It may help to take pictures of the error messages and send them along.

Will send the device now, it ran 2 days and suddenly the same crap. Very annoying.
