Machine off and smells charred

Hello. i made my coffee this morning as usual and went into the living room. after a while it smelled charred and the fuse of the kitchen was out. The machine is off and doesn't turn on anymore. I assume that it is a defect in the power supply...for whatever reason. I have the machine working as usual... no abnormalities. Now to my question: the Macschine is four years old...is it worth a repair or can you do it yourself? Thanks
