Hello together,

since some time our coffee machine ESAM 6600.
With the time less and less water came out in front and meanwhile nothing comes out anymore. sad.gif
Now I read in a bit and opened the flowmeter. This was completely clean and turned easily and freely.
Then I disassembled the pump and wanted to clean it, but unfortunately I don't know what to clean big unsure.gif

I attached a picture to this article to describe the situation a little bit better.
When the pump is pumping water arrives at point 5 and point 4 on the picture completely.

When you start the flushing process only water comes out at the top of pipe 1. From the thin little tube. If this is correct?
The front of the machine then drips very little.

At the end of the heating process there is water in points 6 and 7. However, there is also a lot of air in the hoses. There is no water in line 8, however.

When the machine wants to start the coffee process, everything sounds relatively normal, but it does not pump water. Neither in pipe 6, 7 or 8. There the water becomes slightly less but there is no new water coming in.
In pipe 1 however you can see that the pump is pumping a little.

Now I have written a lot and I hope you understand roughly what I mean

>I hope you can help me.

Greeting Robert

At 1, water must come out of the thin hose. More than drippy, though. If the hose is not blocked (check!), it can only be the pressure relief valve screwed onto the pump or the pump itself. Unscrew the pressure relief valve, this must be continuous from bottom to 1.

Hello Stefan,

thank you for your message.
At 1, water goes through the thin hose. A lot, actually. You can occasionally see a small mini air bubble, but otherwise the hose is filled with water throughout.

Can be clogged behind the hose what you can clean?

What do you mean, a lot? There's got to be a real jet coming out, that's after the pump.

Hello Stefan,

I just took off the hoses at the pump for the test and had the pump pump pumped into a bowl.
This is where I arrived as far as I can judge the sufficient water.
It was running almost continuously out of the upper valve.

In any case much more than if the pump was pumping through the whole machine and the water should run out normally at the front.

What about the hoses 6, 7 and 8. There is actually no water in them.
Neither when making coffee, nor during the rinsing process.

Eben I tried to make a coffee again after the test run of the pump and there was also some coffee out front. However much too little.
After that I let the rinse run and there it only dripped.

Do you still have an idea?

Gruß Robert

6, 7 and 8 carry water if the overpressure valve responds or the solenoid valve is defective. Some water can also come out of the solenoid valve when pressure is released.
Do you always decalcify the upper brewing piston? Which descaler do you use?

We filled the decalcifier together with water into the water tank and then pressed the rinse button 2 to 3 times and then carried out the internal decalcification program. Afterwards rinsed with clear water.

As descaling we used DeLonghi EcoDecalk at the beginning and the last time a descaler of MBO.
My mother had after it was less and less water also descaled with vinegar.

Was that so far in order?

I've read many times that the error can often be due to the upper bulb.
You can remove it yourself and clean it if necessary?
I haven't found any instructions yet.

Vinegar has no place in a fully automatic coffee machine. He'll destroy the seals. Use decalcifiers based on amidosulfonic acid. You'll find lots of instructions in the coffee world.

What I also read is to clean the shower sieve of the upper brewing flask.

I don't know how to get there. Do you have a hint for me? smile.gif

Unscrew the short Phillips screwdriver and the 2 screws.
Probably it is not there.

Mhhh....

Sometimes the pump makes strange noises when cleaning or pumping.
Does it make sense to change the pump on suspicion?
Costs at Amazon also "only" 13 Euro.
I think I'll replace the pump together with the pressure relief valve. Because sometimes it hums strangely and on the internet I've often read that the pump can be defective if it makes strange noises.

If you still have ideas or hints always use it smile.gif

That sounds like a pump to me. You can also turn the machine down on that occasion. Guurgle a time after sound design DeLonghi
