EA82xx Water outlet bottom

Hello, we received an EA 82XX from my wife's brother and when I wanted to switch the machine on today, water came out directly underneath the machine immediately after inserting the water tank. The strange thing is, you don't have to start the machine or connect it to the mains at all, it happens immediately after inserting the water tank. I attached a photo of the water coming out of the bottom. Does anyone know if it's normal for the marked spot to be a "hole"?
