Caffeo Barista T - Whistle tone

Hello everyone,
Our Caffeo Barista T has a quiet continuous whistle tone in standby mode, similar to a pressure cooker but quieter. After switching on, it is idle for approx. 1 minute, then it starts and only stops again when the device is switched off. Does this indicate a defect or is something like this the rule with these devices?

And the second question concerns liquid in the collection container - is it normal for more liquid to accumulate there after flushing when switched on than at the front when draining into a submerged bowl.?

this is both so far "normal".

The whistling have only some devices and it is somewhat disturbing.
If the machine still has warranty I would contact Melitta
- otherwise just live with it.
