Brew group not removable

Hello all!

I have the coffee machine from my mother in law standing at the table.
It is a ECAM350.35.5WFollowing

problem:
The machine basically works fine, BUT:
- I can not remove the brewing unit as it should be

- After switching off, the brewing unit does move to the correct position.
- However, I can only get the brewing unit out by manually squeezing the two levers together before pressing the red buttons. See attachment.

Is there really no one here who has any ideas? The machine works basically flawlessly, only when removing the brewing unit I have to somehow fumble in with my fingers to get the unit out.

The machine is switched off correctly, so the position should actually fit, right?
