Water filter and hardness level

Which hardness level should be set for the Siemens EQ6plus S700 if a
Brita water filter is also used? The water filter is set to C because we have very hard
water. So filter is set to C, to what degree of hardness should I set the machine?

Hello either you can set only filter or only water hardness.
Option would be an undersink descaler faucet.

but what to do now. Should I then use the water filter to lower the machine now
to water hardness 1 or set a check mark at the softening system?
An undersink softening system is out of the question for us, but thanks for
the suggestion.

Hello, put the filter in and set hardness level to 2 and get yourself a descaler, amidosulfonic acid based. Regularly decalcify when prompted and remove the filter before decalcifying.
In your case since you have such hard water would only for the MWP provide me a case of non-carbonated water for the water tank.
