Maintenance mode does not work

Hello,

I have just bought a new Krups EA 810870 and would like to increase the water temperature. When I press the button under the wheel and the one at the top right to access the "maintenance menu", the on and off button at the top left starts flashing blue and I can't access the individual settings at all... can anyone help me?
