Water Collecting tray, powder dry

Hello, everybody,

Since recently, all the water runs into the drip tray and the coffee powder remains dry.
I opened the machines and made coffee without
a brewing unit and watched.

The water runs 90% through the drainage valve and

10% outside.
It is clear that the inlet to the valve is no longer completely tight but how does the machine decide whether the water
runs
through the coffee or through
the valve?

Is the valve defective or the access to the

brewing unit?
