DeLonghi ESAM 5500 Perfecta Cappuccino

Device has a lot of water in the drip tray in recent weeks.
We always have an extra cup underneath, which prevents water from running in below during the cleaning runs when switching on.
But lately we have to empty the container every 2nd day or it will overflow.
Descaled it regularly, as soon as the indicator appears in the display.
I myself am a "coffee machine layman", but was in the printer and copier business until my heart attack a few years ago.
Is there anything a layman can do himself ?

Open the machine and see if water runs through the solenoid valve. This is the valve at the top of a hose goes off.

You should first look exactly where the water comes from.
The solenoid valve costs about 20€. Possibly still have to be ordered raccords if it is a different version than the installed.
Can also be the upper brewing piston. You can open the door and look up inside. There is a yellow cup. There should be no water in it.
You can remove it, clean it and reseal it or buy a new one.
But first look at what is really defective or leaking.
