Tray indicator flashing with tray in place, Caffeo

On my Melitta Caffeo Solo & Perfect Milk the tray indicator is constantly flashing, despite the tray being in place. What kind of sensor is sensing if the tray is in place, where is it located, maybe it has to be cleaned?
