De Longhi Magnifica S steam knob replacement

Good morning, my name is Roberto, thank you for accepting me into the forum.
I am the happy owner of 2 De Longhi Magnifica S, unfortunately a small inconvenience came up during descaling on one of them. Practically turning the steam knob several times the latter remained in my hands:(
I saw on the internet that the spare part is easily found but honestly I would not know how to replace it .. the question is this: I have to disassemble the fairing of the machine or just a pair of pliers and pull out the knob? Thanks to all
