Hello QM-User

Open here your own thread - to document my experiences -
in the optimization of machine and result.
Since the QM is not a simple button printing machine -
you can really improve the result and the handling with some simple tricks.
And of course I hope for further tips concerning Quickmill 5000A.

>> most important optimization is done by coffee quality (I don't want to go into that - there are enough good treads)

> For most of QM´s it was e.g. necessary to remove or move the grinder limitation in order to really get a real espresso with 25-35 sec. That means - the coffee is usually too roughly ground (with most VA´s necessarily - since those are a bit pressure-sensitive from the brewing group - but the QM can handle with pressure quite well or endure)
The coffee outlet should really be quite a thin jet
Not as with normal VA´s - that in 5-10 sec. the espresso is through.
The coffee powder should be ground so finely - that if the scraper just does not scrape anything - the pump just manages it. (you can exaggerate - the pump gets stuck - then you have the crack point)

> Den Coffee outlet limited to one nozzle -
The advantage is that the extremely thin jet (with 25-35sec cover) - gets a little more volume - doesn't start to drip at the end - doesn't cool down that much -
(the crema looks better - but is subjective ph34r.gif )

> The Outlet of the Überduck´s (hose that usually goes into the pomace - therefore pomace always muddy) - at the already existing (but unused) outlet into the coffee overflow.
U. the hose is (go 2 into pomace container) - which has a return valve in the hose shortly before the end (usually made of brass).
The advantage is that the pomace remains very dry - mould formation is reduced - emptying is facilitated.

With a little practice and a bit of time. Patience is the Quickmill of the result - the best VA den´s gives !!!
but is similar to screen carriers - more depends (than with normal VA´s) on it - WHO and HOW (settings) you make the espresso.

Also on lively exchange ....
Jürgen

Hello Mr. Smith,

I have no idea if I can bring in my experiences/improvements here. If it is not desired, please send me a short message.

I have noticed that the water filling with cover is somewhat cumbersome. Take out the container, fill it up and insert it between the silicone tubes again with difficulty. When used without a cover, some bean flour has settled on the floor of my floor.
Aid: I drilled a small hole in the front of the lid. Just big enough to plug in a funnel.
Now I only have to pull out the water container a little bit with the lid on, insert the funnel and fill the water with a container/bottle.

On my machine the coffee spout is not centered to the holes in the door when the service door is closed. The coffee runs partly into the drip tray/cup storage place.
Aid: The two outer holes are drilled slightly larger. Now everything ends up in the cup again.

Gruß

ALL suggestions for QM improvements are right here !

That with the water tank is a good idea.
I use the always without lid (because of mentioned reasons) -
but so it should go well !

That with the problem with the outlet should have all QM-User -
da with everyone I have so far used bought the holes were extended.
Partially even below a real slot was flexed out.

Thanks for your input to the QM.

Jürgen
