Have a question about the purpose of the hole in the drip tray that is closed with a "silicone insert".

Unfortunately, the silicone part no longer lies flat in the small depression on my machine.

Hello ,I took out this "silicone insert" and then cleaned everything properly.
Then make everything grease-free and glued with superglue again.
If that is against expectation not tight then new drip tray.
This silicone pad prevents cracks in the drip tray because the expansion chamber is located above.
