Hello dear forum community,
I bought a used Krups Siciliana half a year ago and have been very satisfied so far. Then one day the coffee tasted totally watered down, the coffee beans were soggy. Google and a forum post quickly gave me the idea that it might be a worn out grinder. So I ordered a replacement (V4) online. Today I removed the old grinder. But I can't judge if it's really worn out. I took some pictures here in the mailbox: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/5el9fds88yr896r/...0R52EyDrRa?dl=0Ausgetauscht
will be so and so, tomorrow the
replacement will be delivered.
But if you tell me now that it's not the grinder, the problem will continue. I also put some coffee powder in the chamber, the coffee was nice and strong.
The brewing chamber seems to work, the coffee
is also nice and hot.
So please look at the pictures above and tell me if the grinding ring and cone
are worn out. Oh yeah: now I have the open part, what would be worth cleaning?
Should I disassemble and clean each part according to the instructions
? Greetings Dennis
. |
Hi, were you able to solve the problem?
I am just finishing repairing an Orchestro and have the same problem. I have determined that if I select a fine grind, the amount of coffee it delivers is only 11 grams, if I select a coarser grind it delivers 18 grams, which improves the flavor a bit, but it is far from what one would call a good espresso and the coffee comes out very fast, leaving everything with a very poor extraction.
What can I check? The grinder is able to grind fine, but it doesn't come out with enough velocity to fill the group's reservoir.
I already cleaned the group, disassembled it completely and reassembled it, without changing the gaskets (or rings) as I have not been able to get them in Mexico.
