Error 19 is not a zero crossing on the board. One of them's broken. You can't do much yourself. Often the ribbon cable between the two is broken. I would give it to repair.

E19 zero crossing error is from the carafe board, has 3 infrared sensors to detect carafe presence/position. Its ~$12 part, encompass.com has it.

saying that the ribbon cable boot at hinge was "wiggled" and fixed the error makes 0 sense; either the ribbon cable all conduits are continuous or they are not, ribbons don't "heal" themselves. Agree that a break in the ribbon for circuits related to carafe board would cause an E19 if break is to carafe board but again, this would not be intermittant, either it is full continuity or it is not, wiggle would not fix. E19 for me with fully operational ribbon was the carafe board part.

My Exprelia is now throwing the e19 code at start.
The main display dims, then blinks on and off and I get e19 restart error.
In test mode the display blinks even.
If left off till everything cools it starts to try to restart, and even self primes before the same happens.
Carafe water and grind Lid sensors all seem to respond in test mode fir presence.
Ribbon seems intact and before things start to get wonky I can cycle things individually in test mode.
Once the e19 comes back though, she’s dead in the water. dry.gif

I fixed an E19 error on my Exprelia EVO.

The FFC cable was not making a reliable connection to the processor board in the door. I put a small piece of painter's tape at the bottom of the cable on the blue side. The piece of tape was about 1/8" tall and the width of the cable. This reduced the resistance of the conductor connection through greater pressure within the connector.
