First of all, I would like to thank you: Thanks to this forum and your great contributions and advice, I have managed to keep my "AEG Caffe Silenzio Typ CS5000" alive until now.
But now, for quite some time, I have been having the problem that the machine no longer properly transports the marc to the marc bin. Instead, they are being dispersed throughout the machine.
Once a week is therefore Großreinemache announced. After cleaning the machine and reinserting the brew group, the machine works normally again for 1-2 days. After that, it starts again and destroys the marc instead of disposing of it properly.
Do you know such a phenomenon? Is this perhaps related to a defect in the drive unit?
and thank you for your answer. I had already removed the drive unit and found nothing unusual. After cleaning (including removing and reinserting the brewing unit), the machine also runs properly for a few brews.
What exactly do you mean by "pushing the strainer down"? Is it possible to push the brewing unit down by hand?
Yes, hold the brewing unit in your hand... Then press the strainer down. Must be easy to press as I said. If that is not the case look for instructions. There is explained how to disassemble it, clean and best also replace the two seals.
@ Schlawi: I've disassembled the brewing unit yesterday. After I followed your advice and had checked the ease of movement of the sieve. From "easy" can no longer be a question. The O-rings are thickly caked with burnt coffee residues. These can also no longer be removed. I have now ordered new O-rings and silicone grease. When I have installed this, I will report again whether the phenomenon with the crumbled Trestern has resolved.
