Extra spare part?!

Hi all of you coffee-machine-experts! I have a Melitta caffeo ci and are cleaning it. I took out the brewing unit and rinsed it in the zink. I didn't notice a rubber ring apparently coming off, and now I have no clue where to put it. I don't recall I have ever seen it before. Mayby it's not even from my machine but I am puzzled. It's filled with coffee residues.
Help!
