We been having the same problem, tonight after a lot of take off put in trays I decided to leave the drip tray out after I put in the ground tray in and it worked. I think it's the outside drip tray that's causing the problem.

I also have this problem especially during the cleaning process. I have found a trick: after the Abtropfschlae and the set container was emptied and the error message always comes back 5 seconds wait (until set container insert only lights up) and then the door not completely close until the cleaning menu is visible and then with not completely closed door the process to finish. So you get through at least and in normal operation I have the error not so often. Is of course stupid that Philips to this Frgae not even reports.

Great tip that really works. Thanks

behind the residual water drawer sits a moisture sensor, if the moisture measures ,because the load is wet outside , then he writes just load empty.... properly dry outside and runs

With our Saeco Xelsis the error also occurs again and again. The trick with the door has always helped so far. Yesterday it didn't work anymore either. After closing the door, the message "Empty waste water tray and grounds container" was immediately displayed .
Thanks for the explanation and the tip to dry the bowl thoroughly. Has worked.
SUPER !!!

Hello, my Saeco Exprelia reports "Empty set container and drip tray" although both emptied and cleanedist. Brew group is already cleaned, error message remains - no more menu call possible. Can anyone give a tip?

It may be that only the software has hung up. We had that too. Suddenly the messages Empty grounds container and drip tray. Disconnecting the machine from the power supply for 24 hours (pulling the plug) helped. Runs completely normal again.

Thanks so much. Cleaning out the sludge from the small area on top left of tray did the trick. I’ve spent all day on this and your advice was it!

On the Empty Drip Tray... although just emptied message, there is a trick that customer service told us. You are supposed to use the cotton swab to dry the wells in the tray. Then the cleaning program continues to run

Hello Together dear Saeco people of the Exprilla EVO
This error has also occurred with me during cleaning
, first thank you for the tips, have then dried with the cotton swab, the bulge of the Tresterbehälter, auserdem I say that the metal contact was tarnished.
With fine sandpaper grreinigt and everything was ok, the service on the phone could not help me further, it was the electronics and for a comp. price 199, - a workshop would pick up the machine.

So thank YOU ALLGruß

Helped: Empty the water tank, insert the empty water tank, display jumps to Fill water tank, fill water tank and insert again, display jumps back to normal mode.

How funny to read all this here.
The only advice that works reliably is completely lost here.
The recess in the grounds container must be cleaned and then meticulously dried!
After that, the door can also be closed normally
.

The reason is as follows: the descaling agent has a very high conductivity and activates the sensor in the grounds container.

Where is the indentation or which indentation is meant here?

Mega!!!
Thanks for the tip with the slightly open door. Works and saves me nerves and repair costs!

With me it also worked with the open door, however, I have also removed the water tank and inserted at the end.
Thanks a lot !

Found the crucial hint here rolleyes.gif

Especially the small chamber in the drip tray needs to be cleaned.
Wet coffee sludge in the small chamber and the sensor does not detect an empty tray.

Thank you!!!!!

This made my day

Nothing works for me at all. Have tried all the tips here. My drip tray and marc container shine like a bacon rind. Removed back panel, cleaned and dried everything. Nothing works. Always the same message...empty drip tray and grounds container! sad.gif
