Siemens EQ5 blows water into the bottom of the catch basin

Hi folks, I have the problem with the above machine that the coffee does not come out of the outer nozzles normally, but the machine boils and then the machine just spits water into the bottom of the drip tray that you can pull out.

To test whether it is the brewing unit, I ordered a new one, but there is the same problem. So that can't be the problem.

I've now read that it could be the flowmeter or a crack in the heating coil.

I don't know much about coffee machines, but I'd still like to try to repair it.

What's the best place to start?

I fixed the problem.


The gears of the motor were displaced, probably because the brew group was hanging. As a result, the cup of the brew group no longer moved upwards and it oozed out at the bottom.

I opened the motor, took out the gears and adjusted them so that the holes were aligned.

Now it works again :-)
