Melitta Solo water quantity in marc container

Hello everyone
, I would like to ask for your help.
I bought a Melitta Solo as a defect. The problem in the description was: The cups do not fill up.
So I also bought a drainage valve. The machine came today, but to my surprise it made full cups of coffee.

So I'm not sure if there really was a defect. Meanwhile I noticed that there is water in the pomace container and a light white smoke comes out of the machine when brewing the coffee. So I'm not sure if both are normal for Melitta Solo or if it's finally a problem.
