I have cleaned the steam nozzle chamber and can no longer use it. Is there a trick to it? Would appreciate an answer

Click in at the bottom, click in at the top.

In my opinion, there are two possible causes
:- The plastic part at the bottom where the chamber rests is broken and you can no longer hit the locking mechanism cleanly.
Check
with a flashlight-


The above mechanism is damaged. Available in shops as spare part.
