Jura brew group not reversing. Just makes a grindi

I have a Jura impress E75. Yes I am receiving the dreaded Error 8 code.
When starting up the brew group proceeds with resetting itself, however it does not reverse. It just makes a grinding noise at top. The difference here is: Brew group has been cleaned & serviced, the motor and encoder both replaced, and the solenoid valve behaves as expected. My question is what else could be causing the brew group from reversing? How do you troubleshoot issues with the start up steps?
