Caffeo CI metal bracket of the brewing unit

,after disassembling and cleaning today I had strange noises at the start. Then opened again and the brewing unit was out, the metal bracket was only hanging on one side. I've totally done that one now. So everything's normal. Now my question: Is it
important
for anything

Hi Gerd I assume that you mean the bracket for fixing the brewing unit yes it has a function on the back of your brewing unit you see on the same level as the bracket with the screw is fixed a metal plate this controls the micro button when locking and tells the machine okay brewing unit is in position can start why it is running on you anyway I am not quite clear either it is in a vertical position and you are lucky when using it

It is probably meant for the scraper bar for the marc.
It should be put back on
. If it is not there and

too much coffee residue

remains on the upper brewing piston

, the drive or brewing unit can

be destroyed

when the next brewing

operation is started

with a

lot of ground coffee. Regards
