I am the proud owner of an old Quickmill 5000A, which has been doing its job mostly without complaint until now.

Lately, however, the fuse on the board blows every now and then at the beginning of the grinding process (see picture).
A new fuse alone does not help, it blows again immediately. Only if you turn the motor of the grinder a little by hand (at the top of the square where the beans are filled), then the machine grinds again.

Partially it goes well for a few weeks, partly the fuse flies out the next day again.

Can someone tell me what could be the reason?
I assume it is connected with the motor. Has that possibly coals that can wear off?

Glad to hear about any hint!

Good day,

>at a Bosch EQ 5 the triac that controls the mill was recently shredded due to overload. The actual cause was the grinding mechanism itself. The ejection window was totally closed with encrusted coffee lumps. - It'll be similar with your machine. Expand the grinder, clean it thoroughly. Instructions can be found at "juraprofi.de". If the machine has already made a lot of coffee, the coals of the grinding motor can also be worn out. In any case, the fuse will melt due to overloading of the grinding motor, because it draws too much current when the going gets tough.
