Melitta Caffeo CI System error 8

I also had this problem - and like other users found that the drive wheel didn't reset after I held down the little white button. HOWEVER - I then realised that the machine wanted the drip tray to be reinserted. Once I had done that, I held down the little white button again - and VOILA! - the wheel reset itself and I was able to put the brewing unit back again. All fine now! So the key to success is to ensure that the drip tray is properly in place when you attempt the reset.

So with my Cafeo CI I cannot find the switch. When pressing on+my at the same time nothing happens. Is there anybody else who might have an idea?

I'm afraid I feel the same way. There is no large drive wheel and no pear-shaped recess and the key combination does not work either. Are there different Caffeo Ci machines?

Right, the new version of us (Melitta CI 2017) doesn't have this key anymore.

It is important in which order the keys are pressed!

First hold "MY" then "ON" and briefly at the same time; then the machine starts to adjust.
Then you can let go.

The brewing group did not fit in my machine either.
Only on the second try did it work, because I carefully pushed the brewing group in during the adjustment process and then everything was perfect.

The original error was:
switched on in the morning; red error message "System error 8" (PS: new machine! 100 covers)I
switched off, cleaned everything, took out the brewing group and

...

then the problem: brewing group does not fit in anymore!

thank you for your tips!Markus

Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I had to press my first and then the on/off switch, and then it worked.
Oh, I'm so happy. I thought I needed a new one.
Thank you so much.

I took of the protective shield on the driver, and there was a lot of gunk. Than i cleaned it but i noticed the driver was in a weird position.

If anyone else has the problem:

have today called the Melitta hotline
, which in my opinion is the best hotline in the world,
in terms of waiting time, competence, etc., that's just by the way..... biggrin.gif

Anyway, the good woman at the other end advised me to
switch on the device
with the brewing group removed
, then to the top right of the large drive wheel

,

which is located quite centrally, in the approximately pear-shaped recess

, in

which you see a white plastic part, down on this until you
come to
a switch /
button. When you press it, the machine beeps,
then hold it down until the wheel turns back and forth and comes to a stop again
.Now put the brew group back in, lock it in place and you're done!Anyway,
that worked for me

.

I hope I could or can
help
someone with
this.

Thanks for the very useful tips.
Have today changed the drive unit of my aging CI. I discovered that the connections of the new unit are probably designed without a microswitch to the motor. What to do? I cut the cables and thus made the old circuit. With a fatal mistake: The connections were mixed up! (They also didn't use the original colours...) The result was that the engine started briefly, anticipation but in vain, because it ran in the wrong direction. After stopping then system error 8.
Even after replacing the cables no more movement
.

The big problem was that the brewing unit could not be removed and I could not get to the screws for the drive unit.
So I searched the internet and found you guys here. Great tips for free. What
did I do?
1. disconnected the cable again2
. Looked for a power supply with 12 volts and drove the motor back to the approximate starting position. After 1-2 readjustments of the initial position, the brewing unit could be removed without problems.
Then everything soldered again, assembled and "Simsalabim" the machine runs now again perfectly. The weekend is saved! Again,
thank you for the useful tips!

I have recently replaced the drainage valve in our Caffeo Gourmet. Now I'm facing the same problem that the brew group is not recognized (system error 8). And none of the tricks mentioned here helps. It just does nothing at all. Does anyone else have ne idea?
