Hello everyone,

would be nice if someone could help!

Bin passionate coffee pot drinker. Haber bought XP 7240 today and now the disappointment: At 220 ml the coffee resembles a lukewarm rinse water : much too thin!!! Is that normal? Is it possible to only drink small cups? I have no further experience with these devices... Of course I have set coffee strongly and grinder to fine!

In my opinion, the XP7240 doesn't do this better, as the brew group can take up a maximum of 9g. From my own machine I know that I need almost as much coffee powder for a big pot as for 2 coffee cups.
My opinion Krups is not at the height of time to construct a brewing group that can only take up a simple amount of coffee powder. For a double brewing it also goes through 2 brewing processes, while e.g. a Jura manages this in one brewing process, because the brewing group can take up up to 16g powder.

ohmy.gif This is not good!! If I choose the possibility among "strong coffee" also 220ml, spoiled consumer expects also this amount... I'm only surprised that no one has ever criticized this.

Perhaps nobody has criticized this so far, since many do not buy such a device to drink coffee buckets with it.

For the rest, the XP7240 is very well done.

I think a coffee pot should already be possible with a VA. It's an Amerikano coffee, which means it's preferred in America for breakfast.

Must everything from America also be possible in Europe?

I think it could be possible with a VA, but should not be a must.

Remember: A VA is not only intended for Europe. The manufacturers save themselves the trouble to equip the devices for different countries but build one for all.

Then comes still in addition: I also like to drink a big pot, so there would be already 3 in this forum. A VA is there to produce as many coffee specialities as possible.

And to construct a VA that can prepare 2 cups at the same time, but needs 2 brewing processes to be able to fill both cups, is not exactly up to date. The cheapest VAs already have a variable brewing group.

That in the smallest VA of the world no larger brew group can be used, is clear. (see lack of space) You drink 2 cups in a row. Anyone who drinks coffee from pots only needs a filter machine. Italians don't drink espresso from pots either.
