Hello everyone,

I hope someone here can help us narrow down the fault, because our EQ 7 Plus is showing the following error pattern:

When it is switched on, the machine starts its usual rinsing program and water comes out at the end via the coffee spout - albeit very little.

When trying to brew a coffee, the beans are ground, you can hear the ceramic valve, the brew group and the pump, but no coffee comes out of the spout and the process ends with the coffee grounds being ejected and liquid collecting in the drip tray.

Hot water extraction, on the other hand, works without any problems.

The problem started a few weeks ago when a new water filter was fitted. After the filter was removed, it worked again, but the problem has recurred from time to time. Most recently more and more frequently until it no longer works at all.

When I set the ceramic valve to position 4 (hot water -> hot water hose) via the diagnostic program and switch on the pump, the water comes out of the hot water outlet. In addition, we have already replaced the coffee outlet nozzles as they were heavily calcified.

Before I replace parts on suspicion and the whole repair quickly becomes uneconomical, I would like a rough estimate of the most likely cause or what else can be tested to narrow down the fault...

From what I have read so far, I would primarily suspect the pump, even if it always transports water in diagnostic mode. Perhaps it is no longer able to provide the pressure required for the brewing process, which is significantly lower in hot water mode?

I look forward to your feedback!
