Hello
When I turn on the machine in test mode, all I hear is a ratcheting noise and the brew group holder is not transported further.
As if gears rub against each other do not mesh.
I was previously able to remove the brew group by turning the threaded rod by hand.
What could be the problem ?

The spindle nut in the brew group drive will be defective.
Is a typical wearing part on DeLonghi.

Aha....
Thanks for your feedback !
Can I replace this ?
Or is it easier to replace the whole drive unit ?

Yes, you can change it if you are confident.
You can get a new spindle nut, for example, at Komtra.de or Juraprofi.de. Very important!! the appropriate grease is there!
There you will also find repair instructions.
Or look at Youtube spindle nut DeLonghi.
The nut costs 9.90 € + shipping

New drive costs times loose 80 €.

I would also order a set of seals and replace all. Offers itself in the course, since the machine is open anyway.

Thanks for your reply MrLed smile.gif
yes, have also put my request elsewhere, because I myself have little knowledge and I hope to get a more comprehensive "picture" with it.
However, before I get to the removal of the unit:
Can I perhaps yet make sure for sure that it really is the drive unit?
Should e.g. the carriage actually move even without the brewing unit?

Today I installed a new spindle nut on a Delonghi ESAM 2600. The old spindle nut had quite a bit of air compared to the new one.

If the carriage can be moved 2-3 mm, it is already too much in my opinion.
