Saeco sup 021 - Grinds long and then stops

Good evening,

I hope someone can help me a little. I am owner of a Saeco Sup 021 and have the following problem: If you want to make yourself a coffee, the machine grinds unusually long and then breaks off after a while with the LED for an empty bean container. However, beans are abundant and if you press them again for a while and then brew the coffee, but with very little water pressure. In maybe one of three cases the same error message comes up again. Occasionally it also works without problems, although this occurs less often. The water pressure for the brewing process is always very variable, but the water pressure for hot water/steam is completely normal.

I don't know much about electronics or mechanics, but I already tested the following:

Decalcified and degreased
Brew group removed and cleaned
Settings for grinding degree and quantity changed - current: (grinding degree 8-10, quantity: is set to -
Grinder completely emptied
Flowmeter checked - no deposits

Do you have any idea why this error occurs so often?

Many thanks in advance!

LG Chris

PS: Very creative captcha for the forum. I am a web developer by profession - I like the idea =)

To the grinder problem, micro switch dosing unit clean with Isopropanol, or exchange.
To the water problem, again intensive descaling and also times a few covers with descaler make.
Should then run again when no other problems are present

If new microswitch: Exactly the same type. They all have different pressure resistances. This has only very slight resistance at the push of a button.

Good evening,

what lasts long is finally good... or not biggrin.gif

>I bought and installed a new, identical microswitch. The problem is now somewhat different: coffee is ground and it no longer breaks off after a while but goes directly into the brewing process. Only there is still only coffee drop by drop.

I have completely cleaned and decalcified the machine again. Outlet and brewing group completely disassembled and cleaned.

Bin with my Latin at the end. Grinding process seems to run without problems and if one obtains a coffee with pre-ground coffee powder through the mode "filter coffee" everything works without problems, water pressure completely normal. Only if the machine has to grind coffee itself, it won't get any water through...

Does any of you have an idea?

joa disassemble pump, check pump ball for dimensions, maybe a pump spring is broken, working seal is new, if too much action is just put a new pump into it
