Grinding time

Hello,
I have a KRUPS EA8200 SERIES.
I have found to enter programming to set the grinder time by removing the grounds container and water tank, or reconnect by pressing the steam button, or choose between the 5 settings to have the desired grind time. But the problem is how do you validate???
