Coffee maker shows only malfunction

I have a built-in fully automatic coffee maker that has worked quite well so far.
Now, however, during cleaning "fault 8" occurs.
The good tip in the user manual to disconnect the appliance from the power supply is of no use.
He still insists on his fault 8!

Gives me a trick how to get the device working again?
Must I clean or replace something?

Thanks for possible info:-)

Good Sunday,

>disorder 8 means: the initialization of the brewing unit does not take place correctly. There are two switches in the drive gear of the BE through which the device recognizes the position of the BE. If these switches do not switch correctly, the "Fault 8" display will appear. These two switches are available as spare parts for 12,50 Euro.
But removing the BE drive is not that easy. Depends on how confident you are about this. There are e.g. "juraprofi.de" instructions how to disassemble the machine. It is the technique of "Verobar Professional" from Bosch.

Thanks dear Barista for the info!
This gear you mentioned I already removed (the removal is no problem, but probably the installation).
The two limit switches are each "pressed" - could it nevertheless be that these do not shift properly? or the gear motor is defective? because turning by hand does not work?!

Thanks for possible further info.

Good evening,

so these two switches must switch cleanly. It is very unlikely that the geared motor is defective. The gearbox cannot be turned by hand anyway, because the drive shaft of the motor is a worm roller which engages in the large gear wheel. I'd put in new switches because the old ones are probably worn out inside.
If you were able to remove the gearbox, then the installation will go the same way, only vice versa.

When measuring you have passage - but maybe the electronics is more sensitive.
Will dare the exchange :-)
Thanks to HWS for the good information!

I have the same problem with the same machine. Brewing unit everything fully movable. However, I suspect an adjustment of the system. How do I get the system into the home position and what is it? I also read that there are supposed to be 2 "limit switches" to replace. The switches cost about 13 Euro - but the installation would be very complicated........

What can I do? The machine works otherwise totally great!

Somehow I also have the feeling that it needs a "RESET" or else a key combination to get out of this error mode again.

It's a real cry - would like to repair it. If I only knew what.

I currently have the same problem with my machine, I found that the brewing unit was jammed. I’ve cleared the jam but the error 8 occurs. It seems as though the drive motor has stopped working, but when I turn the machine “ON” the driver motor doesn’t receive any power from the circuit board.

Does anyone know if there is circuit protection for the drive motor in the circuit board ?, is there a factory reset you can perform ?
