Hello dear coffee machine community,

I am facing a tricky problem with my Krups Arabica Picto EA8108 and am hoping for your expertise. When I switch on the machine, the 'Calc' and 'Clean' indicators flash, while the power button is continuously lit. When trying to start the descaling program, only about 100ml of water is released from the steam wand before all four red lights start flashing and error code 5 appears.

I have already taken some steps to address the problem: I have opened the machine, cleaned it from coffee residues, cleaned the strainer and the sealing rings of the brewing unit as well as the outlet hose. I also tried filling the water tank with lemon cleaner for coffee machines to descale it, but this was unsuccessful as the complete descaling program does not start.

I have to admit that in the past I have only ever carried out the required cleaning programs with water, as the water in my region contains hardly any limescale. I suspect that this may have contributed to the current problem, although I have not noticed any obvious limescale deposits.

I would like to add that I have technical knowledge and have access to all sorts of measuring equipment such as a multimeter and oscilloscope, as well as the necessary tools. I am therefore open to slightly more complex solutions that go beyond the basics.

Has anyone had similar experiences or can give me specific tips on how I could tackle this problem? Could it be the flow meter or are there other components I should check?

I'm grateful for any advice and look forward to getting my coffee machine up and running again.

Best regards,
Nik
