Hello all
,after 4 weeks of downtime the machine is apparently pissed off and throwing the pomace around wildly. About a quarter is next to the collection container.

Also, the coffee tastes a little strange, it has such a chemical aftertaste? I can't describe it any better, could of course be a bad or burnt beans.

Your machine has been left unused for 1 month, the leftover coffee beans & ground coffee, the grounds, the water and the remaining coffee have had time to ferment and give off a bad taste.

Refer to the manual to clean all the elements of your machine, do not forget to throw away the grains still present in the grain tank.

Proceed to several rinses to eliminate the old water.

Concerning the ejection of the marc, I think that the dirt is responsible.

Keep us informed

Get cleaning tablets for fully automatic machines from a drugstore chain.
Grease the threaded rod behind the brew group holder with food-safe grease.
Then the brew group should be cleaned properly. In the largest search engine times enter " Brew group Delonghi maintain".

,thanks for the replies, the brew group is actually cleaned regularly and the water and coffee were of course removed before the vacation. The first cup was also poured away.

The tip with the linkage grease we will follow. I just took out the brew group, there is a layer of coffee grounds on top of the strainer, so apparently it doesn't ramp up properly anymore, so grease it.

Leave the infuser soaked in warm water (without detergents) for 5 to 10 minutes, shake it to remove excess water, wipe it.
Press on the plunger with a finger, its movement must be fluid, without hard point.
If it is hard, you can grease the inside of the piston with the equivalent of a pea-sized amount of silicone grease.

,I have now greased everything and thoroughly cleaned the filter of the brew group, now it runs like new again. The coffee also tastes again, all good!

Can you please tell me what you mean by infuser?

Hello, regularly take the cleaning tablets halve them and then throw them after the second rinse cycle through the powder chute into the brew group ,then press the rinse button several times, should still no clear water flow out, then get again.
That's how it's done and not always buy new, anyone can do that!
