Hello together,

the last time I decalcified my Nivona so mid November 2015. Since then I haven't been asked any more - although we drink a lot of coffee (there are three of us, and there are 10-12 cups a day) - to decalcify the machine.

Can somebody tell me if that's normal or if I have to worry about it already?

I have to mention something about it though:

For some reason - I don't remember why - I interrupted the decalcification program in the middle of it.

>Although afterwards the decalcification program was started manually again.

May be it that the interruption got mixed up something ?

Were nice if someone could help me here.

Thank you very much for your help.

Maybe you just programmed it to filter? Then there's never a decalcification request...

Thanks for the answer.

No, I did not program the filter operation. At some point there was an invitation to decalcify.

I have my Nivona, already for years in the filter enterprise and nevertheless I am requested to the decalcifying. The cycles up to descaling are only longer if the machine is operated with a filter. I've made a statistic several times. On average, it takes 51 days for decalcification to take place.
In that time we had drawn:
40 normal coffee
70 capuccino
91 latte macciato
4 times filter changed.
I wrote this down a few times, it is always the same order of magnitude, until the next decalcification process.
One should not decalcify excessively. This is an aggressive acid and can break the machine if descaling is too frequent.
My tip: If the machine does not report for descaling within 2 months cycle, have it tested in a special workshop.
Greetings,

Unfortunately I don't know the machine, but normally the frequency of descaling depends on the water hardness and the water flow rate...

Frequent descaling doesn't bother the machine. Too little decalcifying destroys the machine, so it is better to decalcify more than too little.

Why do you take the machine to a "special workshop"? Above all: What is a "special workshop" and what do they do other than decalcify?
If you can start the descaling program manually on the machine, you can also start it manually without a workshop wink.gif
